13 Weeks 1 Day!

Finally in our last week of the 1st trimester. I cannot believe the pregnancy is 1/3 of the way done, it is going fast. Over the last week my morning sickness has been a lot better. I am having 2 or 3 bad days a week & the rest have been fairly normal. It is a huge change from all day nausea.

Now on to more positive things. The baby should be around 3 inches in length and almost an ounce in weight. Babies fingerprints are formed. The veins & organs are visible through the skin & the body is catching up to the head in size.

We scheduled the 4D appointment for April 17th. We should be able to find out the gender of the baby, assuming he/she cooperates. Justin also bought me a fetal heart rate Doppler. I am very excited about it. It will ease my mind between the 4 week appointments & allow us 1 more chance of bonding.

OB Appointment #3

Yesterday was our third appointment. It has been 4 weeks since we have seen the baby & we were both very excited to hear the heartbeat. The doctor used the Doppler & found the heartbeat almost instantly. It was a great moment. The heartbeat was 166 BPM. She said it was a very strong, which made us happy. After the quick exam she went over my previous labs. Everything was good & we found out that Justin & I both have an 0+ blood type. I have gained a pound since our last appointment. This puts me at a total of 2 to 2 1/2 at 11 Weeks 5 Days. Overall the doctor said I am doing great & appear to be healthy. We go back again in 4 more weeks (April 15th).

We decided to share our news after this appointment. It is still a little early for me, but its OK. Everyone has been so supportive & excited for us. My phone has been ringing nonstop & Facebook has been very busy. I just hope I can still have conversations about things that do not involve being pregnant. I love being pregnant & everything that comes with it. But I still want to enjoy today & not make it a count down to September. Time seems to go fast enough & I know our little one will be here before we know it.

Thank you to everyone who has known for 4 weeks (Meg for 7!) & was able to keep it a secret. It meant a lot to me and Justin to be able to share our news.

10 Weeks 1 Day!

I have not been as good about blogging lately. It has something to do with work & a lot to do with being sick. The morning sickness has not been terrible. I started getting nauseous around 5 weeks & got sick for the first time at 6 weeks. Every day seems to be very different with no consistency. This week has been the best week so far, I am hoping things start looking better from here.

I have recently out grown my pre-pregnancy pants. It was a sad day for me. I can still put them on, but have to keep them unbuttoned & in some cases the zipper has to be down. I looked and looked and looked for pants that fit me. There are 100 different types of pants. The hard part is finding some that fit in the legs. I don't mind taking up the bottoms, but I cannot bring in the sides. So I ended up getting a "Pregnancy Band." It goes over my waste, so you cannot see the buttons being opened. Problem solved... for now!

People have slowly been finding out about our little one. It is very exciting telling people, even if it is early. We are wanting to make it public sometime after our next appointment (12 days). There are certain people I had to tell so they didn't worry about me when I was getting sick. My boss was very excited & overly protective. He makes sure I am getting plenty of fluids & offers to let me take lots of breaks, it is adorable. The ladies at church get me excited about planning showers & the future of our little man.

Overall the pregnancy is going great. I cannot believe we are already a quarter of the way done. 6 1/2 months to go, crazy!
