Our everyday life

The holidays came and went and we are all settling back into our new norm. Justin started his third quarter of grad. school. It's really going quickly (for me anyways.) He has class 2 evening during the week and on Saturday mornings. Alexa started her first dance class. She was SOOO excited for it to start. When we arrived a few minutes early it took everything out of her not to run in during the other classes session. I was a little nervous about her going into class without me. Once the teacher came out and called the girls, Alexa was the first one ready to go. She did not even say good bye to Justin or I. We were able to see a little bit of the class and we could hear all of it. The class is for 3 and 4 year olds. Alexa did her own thing for a little bit but for the most part followed the teachers instructions. When the class ended Alexa threw a huge fit because she did not want to leave. I really thought an hour class was a long time for a 3 year old. Clearly it was not. She cried all the way to the car and even at dinner. I guess we picked a bad night to go out to eat.

My Tuesday's and Thursday's home with the girls have become my favorite days of the week. We eat breakfast together, take our time picking out clothes & getting ready together. I try to make sure we do some sort of craft outside of the usual coloring and of course some outdoor time (weather permitting). Alexa and I have been working on her reading and writing as our special activity. Addison and I share one on one tummy time. I can really see how much happier the girls are on those relaxed days. I try to get the house work done when they are both napping or on the weekends. I know if I was home all week it would not be the same way. I feel less pressure to worry about rather Alexa is getting enough kid interaction or school lessons. I know 3 days a week is plenty for her so I can just enjoy her on the other days. I really hope I can continue a part time work schedule while the kids are still little.

Things I want to remember from this week:

  • Alexa was pretending to sneeze and Addison could not stop laughing.
  • The girls are I created Justin's B-day. I told Alexa it was a surprise so she needs to not tell Daddy about it. The minute he walked in the door she told him we made him 3 signs. Ugh!- What a little stinker.
  • Addison has a hard time focusing on breast feeding if her eyes wonder up to me. If she catches me looking at her she will immediately stop eating and start smiling.
I have sooo much love for my two little girls. I hope they always know that. :)
